Pet owners understand that critters have personalities just like humans. Some are shy and quiet while others come across bold and brash. Like with people often times the big more powerful dogs are reserved and timid while the little sassy lapdogs are aggressive and vocal.

Photographing the assortment of cats and dogs bring all kinds of challenges not normally seen in the studio. While a child can be curious and distracted we can normally reel them back in with stories or activities. Animals are more instinctive... sounds and motion will grab attention and food is always a good last resort.
