No, I was not there but it was the date of the very first Kodak camera being sold.

A day that changed the future of photography– turning it from a pure science to a fun art, profession and hobby for millions of people around the world.

If they could see us now with all the digital technology you wonder what they would be thinking?

Of course they would be shocked and awed by the advances but also sad and crushed with Kodak on the brink of failure.

The good news is photography is more popular than ever. Thousands of capture devices everywhere from cameras to cellphones.  Someday I would not be too surprised to see a phone in your toaster!

But for now I will be happy with my bad boy DSLR.
